This type of product has been conceived for large-size heating which requires high powers and high temperatures. The heating wire is maintained in magnesia (MgO) which is heavily compressed.

The NC ( non-heating) corresponds to the zone of support of the shaft terminal or the connection in the compressed MGO. For Ø between 15.87 and 20, this zone needs to be at least of 50mm for a good mechanical holding.
This non-heating zone also improves the cables holding when temperatures are high.

Caution before use

  • The acceptable charge (W/cm²) on the heater depends on the type of regulation and on the cycles of warming up and stopping.
  • Case of an on/off regulation : the acceptable for 1 minute regulation cycles is 30% smaller than for continious temperature cycles.
  • Therefore do not oversize heaters' power thinking that regulation will do the rest or install a power controller with triac.
  • The hole fit of assembly has a great impact on cartridges' life.
  • Note that tools' corrosion alters boring dimensions and increases the hole fit of assembly. Then, the rebore during the change of the cartridge increases the hole fit too.
  • Thermal grease : our thermal grease withstands 1100°C and the metallic particles which compose it further a good thermal transfer.
  • Beware of not using it in an hermetic casing, as its organic components can go into the cartridge and create short circuits.

Examples of assembly

Incorrect the heating part radiates outside. Montage incorrect
Incorrect the heating part radiates outside. Montage incorrect
Correct but be careful : by conduction in the metallic unit, cables are subjected to a rise in temperature. Montage correct.
Correct the connection is free from the unit. It is the preferential solution. Montage correct.

Usually the cartridge expands more than the metallic bloc.
For the largest heaters, take this into account and do not put the heating part on the verge of the bloc.

The different types of CCMC

CCMC 1BR or CCMC 1BT
Flexible lead connection with ceramic head

  • used most frequently.
  • economical solution.
Rigid lead connection.
CCMC SS, CCMC 1BS ou CCMC 2BS
Without ceramic head and with flexible lead connection.

  • On demand.
  • When it is the best technical solution.
  • More expensive solution than with rigid lead connections.
Without ceramic head and with flexible lead connection.
CCMC 4B
Rigid connection at each end

  • Application requiring a high power and a high temperature which can be superior to traditional tubular element.
Rigid connection at each end.
