There are many applications that require heating up air or gases and many ways of achieving it.

Choosing the appropriate heating element will depend on type of convection used (forced convection or natural convection), air speed, surrounding pressure, operating temperature, power required and available room.

Built from a tubular heating element, heaters can be fitted with fins, shaped in several loops and mounted with anchoring threaded fittings.

Applications:

AIR ≤ 100°C (212°F) : Heats air up to 100°C  (212°F) at a minimum speed of 2m/second perpendicularly to its longitudinal axis. Avoid vertical mounting for natural convection heating.

AIR ≤ 150°C (302°F) : Ambient temperature > 100°C (212°C). In this case choose stainless steel bare elements for pulsated air at 2.5W/cm2 (16W/sq inch). They are more corrosion-resistant at these temperatures. They replace finned heaters.

AIR > 150°C (302°F) : For high ambient temperatures,  we recommend bare heating elements with Watt density and connectors adapted according to use. Please seek our advice.
